A Grade
Gore Town & Country took out the final of A Grade in the Table Tennis Southland Winter Interclub for a third successive year. They beat Eagles 2 by 3 matches to 2 in the final. Star player Willie Brocks went through the season unbeaten winning all 14 games. He was ably supported by Karoly Erderli and Mike Morus who played a good part in their title win. Andrew Fleming was second in the averages winning 68.4% of his games with Gemma Buzzard from Eagles 1 coming in at third place with 64.3%.
B Grade
The vastly improving Eagles 4 team of Megan Parkinson and Yuliya Shalina took out the B Grade title. They beat the second placed IWMC 2 team on the night by 3 matches to 2. Megan was also unbeaten winning 20 matches over the season to top the B Grade averages. She was followed by Keith Pyne and Gordon McMillan in second equal place on 78.6%.

The President’s Cup was presented on the night for the team with the best dress, sportsmanship, punctuality, and best approach to the sport. This year it went to the Eagles 4 team of Megan Parkinson & Yuliya Shalina.
TTNZ Volunteer Certificates and $50.00 vouchers were also presented to Nathan Kennedy and Gemma Buzzard for their valued volunteer work completed over the year. Table Tennis Southland were allowed to nominate 2 individuals here.
Steve McVicar who was away at the end of last season received his most improved male award for the 2023 season.
